Outrageously Delicious Pizza Sauce

This recipe is a Sutton-exclusive. A very simple, vegan pizza sauce that is sweet, rich, and contains no preservatives or junk. 



INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 Tbl Ghee
  • 2 packages of cherry tomatoes
  • 1/2 white onion 
  • Minced garlic (3+ cloves-worth)
  • Dash of salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, red cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes, oregano, and basil
  • 1-2 Tbl maple syrup 
DIRECTIONS:
  1. In a large, deep fry-pan, melt 1 Tbl ghee at medium-high heat
  2. Sautee onions for about 5 minutes or until translucent
  3. Add garlic and saute for about 1 minute
  4. Add cherry tomatoes to the pan and add spices and maple syrup
  5. Cover and cook for about 15 minutes (or until the tomatoes blister well)
  6. Pour sauce into a heat-safe container

CHEF'S NOTES:
  • To make a killer pizza, top off a cauliflower pizza crust with this sauce. Add Italian sausage, cheese, and fresh basil. 
  • If you like a little spicier pizza sauce, add more cayenne or red pepper flakes. You can also go crazy and add some ground ghost peppers!
